In this separator, liquids with different densities are separated, with the liquid of larger density depositing on the outer wall of the drum and the liquid of smaller density depositing on the inner wall. Both liquids are discharged from the upper part of the drum, while solid particles deposit on the drum wall and can be manually discharged after downtime.

During operation, the mixed slurry is injected into the bowl through the bottom inlet.
