Working Principle of Disc Centrifuge

The DHC self-discharging disc separator from Zhengzhou Toper Industrial Equipment Co., Ltd. is designed to perform two key operations: liquid-solid separation (clarifying operation) and liquid-liquid separation (or liquid-liquid-solid separation) operation.

The disc separator functions as a vertical centrifuge with a drum mounted on the top of the vertical axis, driven by a motor for high-speed rotation. The drum contains a series of disc-shaped components nested together with small gaps between them. Suspensions or emulsions are introduced into the drum through a central feed tube. As the suspension or emulsion flows through the disc gaps, solid particles or droplets are forced to settle on the discs, forming a sediment or liquid layer. The sediment moves along the disc surface, accumulating in the drum's largest diameter portion, while the separated liquid is discharged through an outlet. The discs play a crucial role in reducing settling distance for solid particles or droplets, expanding the drum's settling area, and significantly boosting the separator's production capacity.
