This vertical centrifuge features a drum mounted on the top of the vertical axis, driven by a motor for high-speed rotation. The drum consists of a series of nested disc-shaped parts with small gaps between them. Suspensions or emulsions are introduced into the drum through a central feed tube. As the suspension flows through the disc gaps, solid particles or droplets are forced to settle on the discs, forming a sediment or liquid layer. The separated solid accumulates at the largest diameter portion of the drum, while the liquid is discharged through an outlet. The discs play a crucial role in reducing settling distance and increasing the drum's settling area, thereby enhancing the separator's production capacity significantly.
